  1. What’s the best way to care my flowers?

Each arrangement and bouquet will come with instructions on how to care for your flowers. It is best to begin the process of caring for your flowers as soon as you receive them - never leave your flowers in your car for any extended length of time.

Upon receiving a hand gathered bouquet, remove the packaging, fill your sparkling clean vase with clean, room temperature water, and cut a minimum of 1-2 inches from the bottom of the flower stems. Place the cut flowers directly into the vase ensuring that any lower leaves are removed and not submerged in the water. Place your vase in a cool area away from drafts, direct sunlight, fruit bowls, smoke or heating/cooling elements (fireplace, radiator, air conditioner).

If your flowers came arranged in a vase or vessel, remove from the box and replace any water that may have been lost in transit. Follow directions above for placement in a cool, draft free area of your home.

Replacing the water daily and recutting stems will help ensure your flowers last longer. Removing spent flowers will make your arrangement looking beautiful while allowing the remaining flowers more longevity, as bacteria feed off of degrading plant matter. Keeping your vases sparkling clean using a touch of bleach and dish soap to wash them will improve future flower longevity as well. Bacteria is a flowers worst enemy.

  2. How long should my flowers last?

While each flower stem has a different lifespan you could expect your flowers to last a minimum of 3-5 days. Some flower varieties have a lifespan of 8-10 days. Some of our customers, when they provide flowers with frequent water changes and recutting of stems, have reported them lasting up to 3 weeks!

In each arrangement we try to utilize flowers at different stages of opening to replicate the way flowers are found in nature, so that you may enjoy the flowers as they open and fade at every stage of their life.

Many environmental factors affect flower life, including water quality (softeners, pH, temperature, bacteria), air quality (smoke, ethylene gas from ripening fruit/old flowers), and temperature (nearby air conditioning/drafts, heat sources).

If there is an issue with the flowers within the first 48 hours of receiving them, please call us so we can assess what may have caused any problems for your flowers.

  3. What is the best day to order flowers?

Since we are closed on Sundays and Mondays, our first shipment of the week will typically arrive on Tuesday morning. However if flowers are ordered later in the week, it doesn’t necessarily mean they were harvested later in the week. Please know that each flower in our studio is treated with the utmost care, and through experience we are able to discern which flowers are the freshest. We will always design with and send out the very best of the bunch! We also send flowers at different stages of opening so that you may enjoy them as they evolve, just as they would in nature.

We try to limit the number of shipments we receive each week to reduce our carbon footprint, so we may from time to time sell out of fresh flowers by the end of the week. While it may be inconvenient, please know that we do our best to eliminate waste and excessive shipping whenever possible. It is always best to order at least a few days in advance - or if you are requesting anything specific, a week or more is ideal so we can source only the best, freshest flowers for your order.
